Vegalité (read vegalite)

It has been operating since 2009 and focuses on vegan cuisine with gluten-free options. The word égalit is borrowed from French and translates as equality, balance, and uniformity. The V in the name simply emphasizes the focus of our vegan kitchen.

We are a group of enthusiasts with our hearts in the right place. Reviews and ratings of our work speak for themselves. We also operate as a respected independent music club. We are members of the prestigious music association B.A.C.H. (klubyvbrne.cz), which brings together the most distinctive and original music venues in Brno. We focus primarily on harder guitar genres such as hardcore, punk, sludge, grind, crust, post-rock, and post-hardcore.

Birds In Row, Dezerter, Peter and the Test Tube Babies, Eastern Standard Time, Lvmen, and Zuby Nehty have all performed here. Our staff is friendly and speaks fluent English.

SIGNATURE PRODUCTS

We also produce several Vegalité signature products that you won't find anywhere else in the world.

For example: the unmistakable fermented vegetables with seaweed KIMČILÁDA (kimcilada.cz), which is protected by a trademark, the unique spice blend VEGALITÉ UNIVERSAL, and the excellent CAFÉ-VÉGAL.

Kimchilada

Kimchilada is a fermented mixture of vegetables and seaweed containing eighteen ingredients. It is made from fresh ingredients with an emphasis on South Moravian agricultural quality.

First, we ferment Kimchilada for several days in our special marinade with Korean chili peppers.

Then we leave it to mature for up to two weeks at a temperature of around eight degrees Celsius. After that, it's ready to be sent to you, and if stored correctly in the refrigerator, it will stay in excellent condition for up to 18 months.

In producing Kimčiláda, we draw on the tradition of kimchi production, which UNESCO considers an intangible world heritage and the WHO has declared one of the healthiest foods ever.

Vegalité spices

You wouldn't believe how much time we spent racking our brains over how to achieve the taste, aroma, and appearance of a spice blend that would delight you in the kitchen and also reflect the spirit of Vegalité! So you can easily slip it into your pocket, even if you're just going for a walk.

Our Universal spice blend is suitable for absolutely everything. It's best suited to vegetables and plant-based alternatives to meat products.

It is a broad-spectrum spice with a wide range of individual ingredients.

We tried to make it almost allergen-free, and we also abandoned our favorite soy sauce, so the only allergen you will find here is mustard.

For connoisseurs of ultra-distinctive flavors, we recommend adding a little salt when using the mixture to give it an even more intense kick.

VEG*ALE

We brew several of our own beers, but our “Vegejl” is a perennial favorite and a rarity.

It is a top-fermented beer of varying strength, color, and bitterness, but above all, we always brew it using a different recipe and almost always in a different Czech or Slovak microbrewery.

We always actively participate in creating the recipe, choosing hops and suggesting less traditional beer ingredients (e.g., beetroot, tomatoes, chili, various flakes...), but of course, the most qualified person always has the final say—the brewmaster. Just so we don't get too carried away.

We always brew at least 800 liters of each edition of this special beer, but the truth is that we have already brewed 4,000 liters once.

In the past, this special beer was created in cooperation with breweries such as Duck & Dog, Wywar, Mad Cat, Květnice, Hotel Chmelnice, Radniční pivovar Jihlava, Pivečka, Křikloun, Rotor, Ohrada, etc.

Café Végal

The idea to produce 'equality coffee' was born sometime in the spring of 2025.

We are surprised ourselves that it took so long, but sometimes you just have to wait for good things. However, strong and fruitful cooperation between several parties provided an excellent foundation for a top-quality product.

For our own company coffee, Café Végal, we have chosen 100% Arabica beans grown at an altitude of 1,000–1,300 meters above sea level by members of the Zapatista cooperative Yachil Xojobal Chulchan in the southern Mexican state of Chiapas.

Our coffee beans are supplied by our long-standing friends from the Black Seeds cooperative, and we have fine-tuned the resulting original roast with the FairBio roastery in Kostelec nad Labem. FairBio is also a social enterprise and the first cooperative roastery in the Czech Republic. FairBio roasts Fairtrade-certified coffee and employs people with disabilities.

Vegalité lives on!

We also have close ties to the brewing industry and brew several of our own beers. Some are available year-round, others only seasonally. Since our inception, we have supported the non-profit sector both materially and financially. We strive to connect people, educate ourselves, and teach solidarity with those in need. Our social impact is clearly visible, even far beyond the boundaries of gastronomy and music production. You will often find lectures, discussions, vernissages, workshops, and screenings here. But you will also encounter Vegalité outside our premises.

For example, in the so-called Golden Tram, a public transport tram with golden motifs, where we adopted a seat and placed our message to the public on it. Or at the lookout tower in the hills above Bílovice nad Svitavou, where we adopted its 129th step for 50 years, thus contributing to the realization of this amazing viewpoint.
